DIY No Sew Tassels

Hello everyone,

It’s Thread It Thursday!!!!!!!!

Do you like DIY’s but perhaps you don’t sew ?????

Do you enjoy DIY’s but you don’t have a ton of time to spend on one???

Do you like the idea of a DIY until you see it requires a lot of  supplies or that it’s going to be really expensive?????

Then this is a great DIY for you.

It’s a quick and easy No Sew project.

Here’s what you’ll need:

1/8 of a yard of Suede, Faux or Genuine Leather

Permanent Fabric Glue (I used Aleene’s Fabric Fusion)

Jump Ring

Lobster Claw Closure

A large binder clip

Method:

Cut your fabric

7.5″ × 4″ (or what ever you desire)

From that piece of cut fabric cut a strip that is 1/2″ wide. Fold that strip in half length wise and glue together. Next fold in half again and glue the ends together.

On the wrong side of your fabric, measure down 1″ and draw a line across.

Starting from the bottom cut/strips that are 1/4″ apart. Being sure not to cut pass the line drawn.

It will look like this. Next your ready to apply fabric glue as shown. The place the strip we cut and glued earlier as shown. Then tightly roll and use a binder clip to hold securely until dry.

Next place your lobster closure on to the jump ring and attach the jump ring to the tassel.

Now you can use your tassel on a handbag or as a keychain.

DIY Faux Leather Fold Over Clutch Tutorial

Hello all,

Recently, I stumbled upon a great tutorial on Youtube and I had to give it a try. I used the video as a guide but chose different measurements. Be as creative as you choose. Just have fun with it. In total it cost me $8 for each bag and not a lot of time. That’s certainly a win, win in my book. Since it turned out so successful and was really quick and easy, I want to share.

Tutorial for 2 DIY Tops with on trend accents

A few days ago I saw a great DIY T SHIRT TUTORIAL.  I had to give it a try right away. I went through my fabric stash an I already had everything I needed.  It’s a great feeling to want to dive into a project and have all the supplies you need, so you can start right away. A first time for everything. ..lol.

The shirt’s took me about an hour for each.  You can get as creative as you like.  The tutorial I followed she used one color for the top and genuine leather.  For the exclamation top I used two different fabric’s and faux leather.  For the lace and striped knit I simply followed the tutorial without adding any of the embellishments.  You will be given the option of pockets or exclamation point. You will enjoy the ease of this DIY.    It was a great and I must try it again soon.
