DIY Pink & Grey Striped T-shirt

Hello everyone,

It’s Thread it Thursday.

I made a decision to work on improving my sewing skills 1 pattern and 1 project at a time. Patterns can be a bit confusing for me. So for a while a worked on projects without patterns. Now that a bit of time has passed, I’ve learned a bit more and regained my confidence. I am ready to give the pattern’s that I didn’t give away a try.

Today’s project was made using Simplicity’s pattern 2156 view C. I bought this so long ago and never did a thing with it until now.

I made the following alterations.

Added a 7″ zipper in the back
Added 3″ in length
Shortened the sleeves
Cut the neck band on the bias

I must say that this pattern was easy to follow and make custom changes to. I really enjoyed working on this and little by little my sewing skills are improving.

Most of all my daughter, really loves it. Which definitely brings a big smile to my face.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I truly appreciate it.

Happy Sewing & Until Next Time,

  1. This is “sew” awesome- hahaha, sorry I had to go there 🙂 Anyway, patterns totally baffle me, so I really admire your commitment to learning them! I need to do the same instead of being so intimidated!!

    • Lol….that is “sew” cute. I am challenging myself. Sewing doesn’t come as natural as I would like it too. Little by little I am getting the hang of things. I love it when you do DIY’S. That floral necklace was “amazing”. If you can whip that up….you can do anything!!! ☺
